Planning on relocating this year? It is never too early to find out the facts, even if you are unsure about your departure date and to which country to which you may be relocating. Come join the experts from ICVS as we share step-by-step instructions on the latest Fall/Winter 2017 exit process, microchipping, vaccinations, rabies antibody titre testing, airline winter blackout periods, breed travel restrictions and other requirements to help you prepare for a smooth departure from China and an easy entry to your next destination country. ICVS has helped pets from China depart for more than 180 destination countries. We have been working with the PRC Entry-Exit Quarantine and Inspection Bureau since 1996 and have cumulative and comprehensive knowledge of the regulations that we share with pet owners. The ICVS official Animal Health and Immunity Certificates (e.g., vaccination red books) are the gold standard in China and help pet owners ensure a smooth experience at the time of the mandatory exit health examination at the Quarantine Bureau.

ICVS vaccination red books are unique and are not issued in conjunction with any other pet hospitals in China. Please ensure your vaccination red book is issued directly by ICVS and carries all legally required stamps (e.g., chops) for export.

ICVS clients receive unlimited, complimentary pet relocation, import and export counseling from our pet relocation experts. Our mission is to help pet owners keep the whole family and pets together when it is time to depart!

Pet owners coming from other cities and provinces who will exit China from Beijing:
Beijing Quarantine Bureau now requires all pets undergoing the exit health examination in Beijing to present a rabies vaccination certificate issued by an officially designated animal rabies vaccination hospital in Beijing. The Quarantine Bureau will no longer allow pets with vaccination certificates issued outside of Beijing to undergo the exit health examination in Beijing. Please contact ICVS immediately for new Quarantine Bureau export and vaccination requirements if your pet's vaccinations were given outside of Beijing but are planning to undergo the mandatory international exit health examination at the Beijing Quarantine Bureau at 10-12 days before departure.

When to take pets for the mandatory exit health examination:

Please also note that the Beijing Quarantine Bureau is now advising all departing pet owners to take their pets for the mandatory exit health examination at 10-12 days before the departure date (previously, the recommendation was to bring pets for the exit health examination at 7-10 days before departure). If you are going to EU countries please take pets for the exit health examination at 12-days before departure.

PRC Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau Latest Update:

Any dog that tests positive for heartworm will not be granted an exit permit to leave China. This requirement will now be strictly enforced at the time of the exit health examination at the Quarantine Bureau's officially designated animal hospital (conducted 10-12-days before departure). Please ensure your dogs are heartworm tested annually and are on year-round heartworm preventives. Heartworm is treatable but the safest treatment protocol may take six-months or more. For more information about heartworm testing and preventatives to ensure your dogs are heartworm free, please visit this page on the ICVS web site:

ICVS offers its express and affordable rabies antibody titre testing service for departing pets. Please join the experts from ICVS as we provide guidance on import/export requirements for all countries with specific focus on strict quarantine control destinations and rabies antibody titre testing and other requirements, including the European Union, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, South Africa, Saudia Arabia, Dubai and more! The rabies antibody titre test for EU entry is good for the life of the pet as long as the pet is rabies vaccinated annually before the last vaccination's expiration date. Completing the rabies antibody titre test as soon as you know you may be relocating to the EU will help prevent delays should you need to leave China on short notice or earlier than planned.

Learn about the LATEST airline regulations for transporting pets, including new restrictions on breeds, summer black out periods and CURRENT 2017 regulations for pets departing China and entering into European Union countries, North America, South America, Middle East/Africa, Asia and Australia/New Zealand. We will also be sharing advice on pet transport safety, choosing airlines and minimizing travel-related stress for you and your pets.
