“Rascal” has found a forever home! PDF Print E-mail

 rascalrennyicvs

Rascal and Renny pose for their first photo together as a family at ICVS.

Renny stocked up at the ICVS retail store and purchased food, toys, crates and everything Rascal needs to feel at home.

A very happy ending for little Rascal who has been adopted by Renny Harlin, a Hollywood film director, living in Beijing! Renny is the director of the new film "Skiptrace" starring Jackie Chan and Fan Bing Bing. Renny found Rascal's adoption notice on the ICVS web site and came over to the hospital to visit him. It was love at first meeting for both Renny and Rascal and we knew they were the perfect match for each other.

Rascal was cared for by ICVS after he was rescued from a dog meat slaughterhouse. Rascal was cared for and nursed back to health at ICVS. We could not be happier for Renny and Rascal!

Many thanks to everyone that helped promote Rascal and our many beautiful pets for adoption. Please support the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs that allow wonderful pets like Rascal to be treated, rehabilitated and adopted to loving forever homes!

Introduction: Hi everyone! my name is Rascal!

Background: I was rescued by a very kind man from a dog meat slaughterhouse. I was no longer wanted by the vendors that were trying to sell me as a pet so they sold me to the slaughterhouse for salvage value. I was rescued and taken to ICVS, where I was diagnosed with Parvovirus. I was treated and cared for and nursed back to health. I am a survivor of the dog meat trade and am very happy and lucky to have survived. I am hoping for a new start in life with a new family that will love me forever.

Personality: Despite all I have been through, my nature and personality is very gentle, sweet and friendly. I adore people and am hoping for a forever home!

Ideal home: Rascal would be happiest with an individual, a couple or a family with older children (e.g., 8 years and older). Rascal must be a family member for life so taking him overseas when relocating is essential.

Breed: Rascal is a short haired, small Beagle mixed dog.

Sex and age: Rascal is a young dog of about 10-11 months old.

Medical notes: Rascal is now very healthy and lively and has already been dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, stool checked, vaccinated, microchipped and is already neutered.

Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my health examinations and vaccinations during my first year of life with my new family!

Official Vaccination Certificate: With my rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue my new family the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! I need the official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated to move to another city or to leave China with my family.

Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: After my neuter surgery, ICVS will issue my new family an official Spay/Neuter Certificate that will provide my owners with a 50% discount (e.g., up to RMB 500.00 savings) on my dog license registration fee at the Public Security Bureau!

Puppy and Adult Dog Obedience Training Programs at ICVS: ICVS has introduced new puppy and adult dog obedience training programs. The dog training classes will help me and my family live a more harmonious life together! All profits from the puppy and adult dog training programs will be donated to the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs! Please contact ICVS for more information about canine obedience training.

Pet Import/Export Counseling: ICVS will provide my family with unlimited relocation counseling and accurate information to take me with them when it is time to move to another city or to another country.

Door-to-Door Pet Transport Service: ICVS can help my new family arrange for a car and driver service to take us door-to-door for my appointments at the hospital! Contact ICVS: www.ICVSASIA.com

Beautiful brother cats, Billy and Mally, have been adopted! PDF Print E-mail

billymallynewhome1

Happy cats, Billy & Mally, lounging in their new home.

It took a year, but Billy & Mally have found a new home and were adopted together by a wonderful British couple in Beijing. Placed in a boarding kennel in Shunyi in the summer of 2014, Billy & Mally’s family left for Qatar, thinking another family they had briefly spoken with would take them in for adoption. Plans for the new adoption family also changed and the cats were never adopted. They found themselves effectively abandoned at the kennel which was very far outside of the fifth ring road. With no outside visitors or foot traffic at the kennel, the chance for Billy and Mally to be visited by potential adoption families was almost nil.

ICVS learned of Billy & Mally and their plight in September 2014 and decided these beautiful 6-year old brothers deserved a chance to find a new home. All they needed was a little help! So ICVS sent a car and driver to pick up Billy and Mally and brought them back to the hospital. Billy & Mally were examined by their vets at ICVS who provided them with legal vaccinations, stool testing, FeLV/FIV testing, complete blood count and comprehensive biochemistry testing, deworming medication and flea and tick preventives. Billy & Mally had a clean bill of health and were lovely, gentle cats who were also good with small children.

As Billy & Mally had lived their entire lives together, they were closely bonded and we knew they had to be adopted together. So the campaign to adopt Billy & Mally began in October 2015. They spent several months living with ICVS volunteers who kindly fostered them in their homes. In October of 2016, Billy and Mally found their perfect match with a young British couple who had been considering adopting pets. ICVS invited the family to visit Billy & Mally and provided information on their background and health history, cat care, required vaccinations and how to take the cats overseas to the UK and any other countries that the family might relocate to in the future. The family and Billy & Mally are all doing well and very happy. The cats are deeply loved and have found their forever family in Beijing!

Lovely "Leo" has found a forever home! PDF Print E-mail

Beautiful rescued cat "Leo" has been adopted!

img 9702

Julia and Diego found Leo's adoption ad on the ICVS web site before they moved to China and kept up with his treatment and recovery updates while still living in Singapore.

img 9701

After moving to Beijing this summer, Julia and Diego visited Leo several times while he was living with his foster mom, Fionnula, in Beijing. It was love from the moment they met!

Poor Leo was sick with respiratory disease and eye infection when he was first rescued in the winter of this year. Leo was extremely thin and so desperately needed help.

leocat1

Sometimes it is hard to see the beauty from within but we knew Leo was a special guy and deserved a truly good home. So we set out to help him become the beautiful and gorgeous cat we knew he could be.

img 7429

Poor Leo was exhausted and sick and spent his first days sleeping and sleeping and sleeping. And then eating, and eating and eating!

 img 4609

Rescued by Charlotte Landwehr and her family, Leo began to recover as he was treated for his infections, received high quality food and had a warm, comfortable private quarantine room to stay in at ICVS.

leocat

Leo's fur was so matted and knotted that he had to receive a full body shave (Lion cut) to allow him to grow his fur anew.

leo

Leo's fur grew back beautifully and was silky soft. He spent several months living with his foster mom, Fionnuala, learning what it was like to be a housecat and to live indoors for the first time in a very, very long time.

A very big thanks to Fionnula for fostering and loving Leo and teaching him to be a housecat. Leo's fostering paved the way for him to become an adoptable kitty and he is now a beloved family member of Julia and Diego.

And deepest thanks to Charlotte Landwehr and the Landwehr family for rescuing Leo and bringing him to ICVS for his treatment and care!

Please support the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs that give beautiful rescued kitties like Leo and the many stray/rescued/abandoned/rehomed and shelter animals in our community the opportunity to receive world-class medical care, good nutrition, compassionate care and socialization to allow them to become beautiful and healthy adoptable pets.
